CHARITY PROJECTS

Mark is happy to do Charity Work whenever possible (subject to availability).  Below is a list of ongoing activities

Biggest One Day Show Ever In Fife

Pinkertons_ShowAsked by his Agent, I was more than happy to provide my services for this great cause to raise money for The MacMillan Trust and Maggie's Centre.

This show was hosted and organised by George Low, known in the entertainment world as Claude Bol's, and was to raise money for these causes, quite simply because George is diagnosed witn terminal cancer.  Rather than sitting back and giving in, George decided to try and raise some money for cancer care services.

Mark did not have to be asked twice to perform at this event.

Sharing the bill on the day were George C Carlin, footballers Frank MacAvennie & Andy Goram, football agent Bill McMurdo & with a great Tribute to Robbie Williams, Alan Walker from Glasgow.

Mark performed a set of Tom Jones Tribute songs and had a great time with the crowd.

A great day and we believe a great amount of money was raised  !!!

Thanks to everyone for their support for this event !

'Night with Samantha E & Friends'

Autism_Event
As part of his ongoing support for the autism awareness campaign, Mark was happy to perform at this fundraising event for 'Autism in Scotland' on Friday 28 October.

The event was held at
The Hub, Gilmerton, Edinburgh, a great little venue,  and was hosted by Samantha E. Sam was joined on stage by Mark and other performers including Keiran Lambie, Sergei & Merideth Desmond, Woodstock Taylor and Roy Henderson for a night that was filled with fun and laughter.

It was a great night and saw Sam perform with her brother Andie, a performance that captured the hearts of everyone there.

Mark performed 2 songs with Sam, 'Broken Strings' by James Morrison and 'Shine' by Take That.  Both of these songs were un-rehearsed and because of the rawness of this and the buzz of performing together for the first time, they were both a great success !

Every performance that was undertaken on the night was a total success and this small, intimate, lovely event was the end result of what we expected to be a great event ... in fact I believe that the night exceeded all expectations.

Therre are plans for a similar event to be held in April next year so keep posted and you will hear it all here as soon as details are available !

Special thanks should be given to Rev Cammy Mackenzie for his hospitality and support for this event.

Autism Awareness Campaign

Autism
Mark is delighted to lend his support to raise awareness for Autism in Scotland and he was delighted to be invited along to perform at the recent Autism Gala in Edinburgh.

The Autism Gala was the first event of it's kind to be held in the UK, an event where friends and families of those who are on the Autistic spectrum, were able to come together and have a day of fun.

This event was founded and co-ordinated by a friend of Mark's, Shaz Ruderham, who has 2 children with autism and, with the help of a few others, put together this fantastic gala day !

There were lots of activities for the kids and everything was donated free of charge for the event including the services of some fantastic entertainers including some of those on the autistic spectrum. Mark's part in the event came in the form of a 7-song set in the Kirk to, what can only described as, one of the most lively and fun audiences of all time !! Mark witnessed some great performances but none more touching than Andie & Sam Ruderham doing a couple of sibling duets ( and a nice bit of impromptu piano playing from Andie ) ..... simply fantastic to see !!!

View some of Sam's work on her MySpace site !!!

What a buzz !!! Being an informal day, it was also strange but very nice for Mark able to perform in casual wear and denims ..... something that is frowned upon in the circuit that he participates in !

Today was a day for families and was a great success. And we could not have asked for a nicer day for the event ... glorious sunshine was a bonus !

A massive well done to Shaz and the rest of the organising team !!! You can all be very proud of the fruits of your labour !

Unfortunately, due to work commitments at night, Mark could not stay to the end of the Gala and missed some performances that he would like to have seen :-(

gala_024A big thank you to Shaz, and her husband Geoff, firstly for involving Mark in this event, but secondly for inviting him into their world a couple of years ago and raising his awareness to autism and the spectrum.

If you have any photo's or videos of the event please email them to photos@markmulgrew.co.uk
