CHAS Fundraising Event - September 2009



In association with the online Xbox 360 gaming community www.killerclownklan.co.uk , Mark hosted a fundraising night at Easter Road Stadium, Edinburgh on Friday 4 September 2009 to raise much needed funds for CHAS (Childrens Hospice Association Scotland) www.chas.org .  The event saw around 180 people attend and we are pleased to announce that the event has generated a fantastic £2025 for CHAS.

On the night, there were various fundraising games, a speach by Gary Sloan from CHAS, a fantastic buffet, a big Prize Draw with over £2000 worth of goods given away, an auction and a disco to finish.  Mark also performed a cabaret set which went down very, very well.  The whole event was photographed by Hugh Beachamp www.hughbeauchamp.com and below are a sample of his work on the night..

Our thanks go to all who donated prizes and helped on the night.  Special Thanks have to be given to Sean Mulgrew and Andrew Sneddon for initiating the idea and organising the event, Gary Sloan from CHAS for staying the whole evening and presenting the prizes, to Aileen & Jeanette (and others) for providing the buffet, to Hugh Beauchamp for his time and his photography and to Easter Road & Azure for not charging us for the venue.
 
It is hoped that this will become an annual event where we can raise money whilst having a good night out aswell.  With no financial backing, this was a fantastic achievement to raise that amount and again, thanks to everyone involved . . . . you know who you are !
